WAINWRIGHT ELIZABETH. Early 18th century manuscript recipe book. A Queen Anne period 8vo volume closely written in ink with a wealth of recipes for meat, desserts, cakes, biscuits, wines & cordials, medicines & cures. Dated 1711 to the front pastedown. This was published in 1931/32 by the Azania Press as The Receipt Book of a Lady, 1931/32. A copy of the "Ordinary Edition" is included with the lot.
